I was looking forward to my cat trying this Silver Vine Leaf powder because she loves Catnip, Valerian and Gall fruits. However she has shown no interest in it despite trying to tempt her with it in various ways from sprinkling it directly onto the floor, her bed and her favourite toys and scratch post. I have just been left with a mess to clean up.Looking at the powder and smelling it I would have expected she would show some interest. It is a very finely ground green coloured powder which smells quite strongly of grass. It comes in a handy resealable foil packet with clear instructions for use printed on the back. There isn’t a heart shaped storage tin as mentioned in the product description.The fine powder is a bit messy but if your cat enjoys it and has a good time it’s worth a bit of mess. I suppose it’s just one of those things some cats will really like and others like mine won’t be fussed with.This small 30 gram packet will last quite a while as you only need to sprinkle a small amount of the powder each time you use it.

We ordered this to try on our 7 month old kitten as an alternative to catnip. The idea is that you sprinkle the powder on one of your cats favourite toys (soft toys ideally), to stimulate the cat in the same way as catnip. So far the results are promising.Out kitten has a couple of soft toy mice, which came infused with catnip - but in both cases the effect has worn off. Sprinkling a small amount of this powder on to the toy mice has rekindled his interest in both, and they help keep him occupied. This is especially useful when you want your cat to leave you alone (meal times, for example).Applying the powder is easy (we hold the toy above the kitchen sink, and rinse away any residue. You don't need a lot of powder for a typical cat toy, and so the pouch should last a good while (making it decent value). The effect wears off (in the same way as catnip), but that is easily resolved by simply applying a bit more powder.As the cat throws his toys around, I was concerned that some of the powder would come off, and be left on furniture etc. However, this hasn't proved to be a problem so far, and the cat is concentrating on the toys - not the furniture.

This is silver vine - something my cats have tried once in gall format.It’s similar to catnip in nature and more effective for some cats to play with. The galls are usually just swatted around the floor and chewed on. As this is powder, it’s easier to use, I just pop a pinch on the floor and watch them go nuts.It’s a slightly ‘less’ nuts than catnip effect, more of a drugged up “this is awesome and I’m really chilled and happy but I’m going to roll ALL OVER IT VIGOROUSLY” type of nuts.I did see on the internet that after 5-30 mins, cats can get a ‘reset’ period when they stop reacting. At the point my two have walked away anyway and gone for a sleep.The packet is 30g, as the powder is very lightweight, but in terms of amount, it’s a lot when you consider that only a tiny pinch is needed. So, I suspect it’s going to last a long time. It’s quite potent in smell, and smells very ‘herby’ to a human, but not unpleasant. It’s certainly alluring to the cats!

I have two cats here at home and so took this 'Silver Vine Leaf Powder' from brand "Cat FurNature" happily although I confess I did not really know what to expect!What arrives is a small(ish) plastic pouch with a resealable lip and a foil inner lining for freshness. Inside is finely ground powder (so no sticks or leaves) that is green in colour and does, to my nose at least, have an organic plant-like smell to it. On the back of the pouch are printed instructions that suggest you sprinkle some of this onto your cat's favourite toy and watch it elevate their play to a new level. I thought about this but figured the powder would just fall off the toy(s) and end up all over the floor. What I did instead was just pour some onto a piece of kitchen roll and placed the sheet on the floor.Both of my cats were immediately interested. It was fun to watch as each of my two cats had their own style. My female cat seemed to like to actively lick it up and eat it whereas my male cat preferred to roll around in it. I think I can safely say that they both 100% enjoyed themselves with the powder in the moment. I specify 'in the moment' because there didn't seem to much in the way of after-effects or anything like that. Neither cat acted more mellow nor more hyperactive after enjoying the powder.So I guess it depends what you're looking for. My cats liked this but I don't think it sent them to outer space! The pouch is quite small but there is a decent amount left in it because the powder is so fine. I think if you used a pinch per day there might be two weeks worth maybe. It's hard to judge. The pouch says it has a 30 gram volume and it is 13.5cm tall by 11cms wide (after the perforated top section is removed to allow you to open the pouch).These things are quite hard to judge I find. The currently listed price is £9.99 which strikes me as OK...maybe leaning towards high. However value is in the eye of the beholder. One thing I can absolutely say for certain is that I have two cats and they both responded positively to the powder and played around with it in their own ways. Neither of them looked 'stoned' (so to speak!) afterwards but they did enjoy themselves as they interacted with it. At the end of the day this is a cat product and it has gone down a storm with my two moggies. I feel justified in giving this a five star review score (on behalf of my two happy cats!)

Some of the powder must have gotten into the carpet, because he is rubbing on & clawing at the carpet still.Value for money: No.At the time of ordering the product was priced at £9.99. I think that is a little too high a price for this product.

Silver Vine is an alternative to Catnip, this pouch by "Cat FurNature" is not quite so powdery as some I've tried in the past (a good thing in my opinion), it's still very fine though, and made from the leaves of the plant. It has the same stimulant effects as catnip and as with catnip brands how your cat/s react to it varies. I've never tried this brand of Silvervine before so I treated my cats to some. The Cat FurNature brand Silvervine powder comes in a thick foil lined pouch which helps keep the product fresh, and has a handy presslock top for re-sealing the pouch. I've found that sturdy packaging also helps stop the cats from helping themselves when I'm not looking! The powder itself looks fresh and green with a pleasant smell. There are instructions on the back of the packet.I literally only showed the packet to the cats and they were sniffing and rubbing it before it was even open. Once I opened it.. it was hilarious! I managed to take a few pics - one of my girls grabbed at the bag with her paw then she is pulling such a funny face - looks like she's going to go cross-eyed after one sniff!! they eat it, sniff it roll around in it and play like crazy, one of them races around the house. Here are pics of two of my girls enjoying theirs. It really will depend on your cat though as not all react so strongly (same as with catnip) you have to find what they like. Mine absolutely love this brand of Silvervine, much more than other brands they've tried. They love it more than their catnip at the moment too!There is 30g in this pouch, you only need to use a small pinch on toys or on their scratch posts etc at a time so it should last quite long (depending on how many cats you have). The original price was £9.99 which I thought was still a bit too expensive even though this is an excellent quality product, but the current price is £7.99 which I think is fine and I agree with my kitties that this is worth 5 stars. I'll be treating them to some more in the future.

I was really looking forward to my cat trying this silver vine leaf powder as he absolutely loves silver vine sticks and catnip. Unfortunately he just wasn’t interested in this product, despite me trying it on different toys and at different times of the day. The powder smells fresh with quite a strong scent - a bit like grass and it comes in a strong resealable bag. I love that this is a natural product, I’m just disappointed Ozzy didn’t love it too.

This silvervine powder worked really well for my cat. My orange moggy is quite anxious and naturally very skittish, so she often hides when the doorbell rings or when visitors come over. She also does not react to catnip at all, so I was really curious to see whether silvervine would make any difference for her. I am very glad I gave this a try.The best method I found was to take a very small pinch between my finger and thumb and gently rub it first to help release the oils. She usually takes an initial sniff, then backs away for a moment because it can be a little strong for sensitive noses, so I would definitely recommend starting with a very small amount and letting your cat approach it in their own time. Once she settled into it, the difference was really lovely to see. She became much more relaxed, snuggly and comfortable, and started rolling around happily.What impressed me most was the effect it seemed to have on her confidence after being startled. A delivery driver rang the doorbell that same morning, and normally she would run off and hide for anywhere between 20 minutes and 2 hours. This time she did run into one of the bedrooms at first, but once I had answered the door and walked back to the living room, she came straight back out into the hallway and followed me. For my cat, that is a very noticeable change.In terms of quality, this seems fresh and effective, and it clearly had the desired result. The scent is definitely quite strong, which is probably why it works so well, but that also means a little goes a long way. Pet enjoyment is easily the standout point here, because my cat genuinely seemed to love it. Value for money also seems very good, since you only need a tiny pinch at a time, so the pack should last a while. The packaging is simple and neat, but I do think the instructions could be clearer.That is my only real criticism. The packaging is not very clear about dosage or frequency of use, and I think that would be especially helpful for first-time buyers. Small quantities are definitely best, and this is something I would only use occasionally rather than every day.Final verdict: I am really happy with this and will definitely keep using it as an occasional treat for my cat. It is especially good as an alternative for cats who do not respond to catnip. Seeing her visibly relax, roll around, and recover much more quickly after a stressful noise was genuinely impressive. I got the Cat FurNature silver vine leaf powder out of curiosity, and whatever it is, all three of our cats absolutely loved it.They showed interest as soon as I opened the resealable sachet. I sprinkled a small amount onto their cardboard scratch toys and the reaction was instant — lots of scratching, rubbing, and rolling around.It clearly grabbed their attention and kept them engaged, and a little goes a long way. The resealable packaging is handy as well.It’s provided a lot of entertainment here and has been a big hit with all three cats.
